The difference is depth, not just time
Regular cleaning maintains a home that is already in reasonable condition. It concentrates on the surfaces a household uses every day — floors, counters, sinks, bathroom fixtures, visible dust — and keeps them at a steady standard. The goal is consistency: the same checklist, on the same day, every week or two.
Deep cleaning is a reset. It gives time to the things a routine visit cannot reach in two or three hours: grease on the hood and the wall behind the hob, limescale on taps and shower glass, grout lines, the tops of wardrobes, skirting boards, door frames, switches, window tracks and the dust that settles behind furniture. It is slower, more detailed and usually done by a small team.
What each service includes
A regular clean
Typically two to four hours for one cleaner in an apartment, covering:
- Dusting of reachable surfaces and furniture tops
- Kitchen counters, sink, hob and appliance fronts
- Bathrooms: toilet, basin, shower or bath, mirrors and floor
- Bedrooms and living areas tidied and dusted
- Floors vacuumed and mopped throughout
- Bins emptied
A deep clean adds
A minimum of 2 cleaners for 3 hours each, and usually longer on larger homes, adding:
- Degreasing of the extractor hood, hob surround and cabinet fronts
- Descaling of taps, shower heads, screens and tiles
- Grout lines, corners and skirting boards
- Inside cupboards and wardrobes when the home is empty
- Door frames, switches, sockets and AC vent covers
- Window sills and sliding tracks cleared of sand
Choose regular cleaning when
Regular cleaning is the better value when the home already gets steady attention and nothing has built up.
- The property was cleaned properly within the last two weeks
- You need dusting, floors, and a kitchen and bathroom refresh
- You want a recurring schedule with a predictable number of hours
- Someone at home keeps on top of daily tidying
Choose deep cleaning when
Book a deep clean when the home needs catching up, or is changing hands.
- The home has not been professionally cleaned for three months or more
- You can see grease, limescale or dark grout lines
- You are moving in, moving out or preparing for an inspection
- Renovation or maintenance work has left dust behind
- You are hosting a large family gathering or returning after summer
- You are about to start a recurring plan and want a clean baseline
What each costs in Abu Dhabi
Both use the same price list, set by the length of the visit: AED 60 for 1 hour, AED 90 for 2 hours and AED 40 for each hour after that, with 20% off a visit of 4 hours or more, per cleaner, with the team's materials included, VAT included. The difference is the time involved. A regular clean can be as short as 2 hours in the areas that take short visits, and is 4 hours at least elsewhere; a 2-bedroom apartment usually needs 3 hours, which is AED 130 with our materials.
A deep clean starts at 2 cleaners for 3 hours each where short visits are accepted — AED 260 with our materials — and at 2 cleaners for the area's shortest visit elsewhere. A 2-bedroom apartment in average condition usually needs 5–8 cleaner-hours in total. Add sofa, carpet, mattress or curtain cleaning to a deep clean and those items are 10% off.
What makes Abu Dhabi homes different
Three local conditions push homes here towards deep cleaning sooner than in many cities. Hard water leaves limescale on every tap and shower screen within weeks. Fine desert dust gets through window seals and AC vents and settles on high surfaces people rarely look at. And long summers with the AC running and windows shut mean dust recirculates rather than blowing out.
That is why many households here book a deep clean two or three times a year — typically before Ramadan, after the summer break and before winter guests — with regular visits in between.
The most cost-effective routine
For most homes the cheapest way to stay clean is a deep clean first, followed by weekly or fortnightly regular visits. The regular visits keep buildup from returning, so each one stays short, and the next deep clean — every three to six months — has genuine buildup to deal with rather than months of missed maintenance.
If you are unsure which one you need, book a regular clean and describe the condition when you book. If a deep clean would be better value, we will tell you before the visit.
